Torah Study - Vayishlach

Parashah Vayishlach opens with Jacob preparing to confront Esau, a moment filled with fear, humility, and hope for reconciliation. The night before their meeting, Jacob wrestles with a mysterious figure and emerges transformed, receiving the name Israel -- one who struggles with God and prevails.

The long-awaited encounter with Esau results in unexpected peace, demonstrating the power of reconciliation. Yet the parashah also includes moments of violence and grief, reminding us of the ongoing brokenness within Jacob’s family. It is a story of identity, struggle, and the beginnings of a nation.
