The Bridegroom

Who is Yeshua (Jesus)?

The Book of Revelation begins by laying out the reality of who He actually is.

Let’s start with a once over reading of this chapter then we’ll dive a bit deeper into it.

Revelation 1

1 This is the revelation which God gave to Yeshua the Messiah, so that he could show his servants what must happen very soon. He communicated it by sending his angel to his servant Yochanan, 2 who bore witness to the Word of God and to the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah, as much as he saw. 3 Blessed are the reader and hearers of the words of this prophecy, provided they obey the things written in it! For the time is near!

4 From: Yochanan

To: The seven Messianic communities in the province of Asia:

Grace and shalom to you from the One who is, who was and who is coming; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; 5 and from Yeshua the Messiah, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the earth’s kings.

To him, the one who loves us, who has freed us from our sins at the cost of his blood, 6 who has caused us to be a kingdom, that is, cohanim for God, his Father — to him be the glory and the rulership forever and ever. Amen.

7 Look! He is coming with the clouds!

Every eye will see him,

including those who pierced him;

and all the tribes of the Land will mourn him.

Yes! Amen!

8 “I am the ‘A’ and the ‘Z,’” says Adonai,

God of heaven’s armies,

the One who is, who was and who is coming.

9 I, Yochanan, am a brother of yours and a fellow-sharer in the suffering, kingship and perseverance that come from being united with Yeshua. I had been exiled to the island called Patmos for having proclaimed the message of God and borne witness to Yeshua. 10 I came to be, in the Spirit, on the Day of the Lord; and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet, 11 saying, “Write down what you see on a scroll, and send it to the seven Messianic communities — Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea!” 12 I turned around to see who was speaking to me; and when I had turned, I saw seven gold menorahs; 13 and among the menorahs was someone like a Son of Man, wearing a robe down to his feet and a gold band around his chest. 14 His head and hair were as white as snow-white wool, his eyes like a fiery flame, 15 his feet like burnished brass refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, out of his mouth went a sharp double-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

17 When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. He placed his right hand upon me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last, 18 the Living One. I was dead, but look! — I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and Sh’ol. 19 So write down what you see, both what is now, and what will happen afterwards. 20 Here is the secret meaning of the seven stars you saw in my right hand, and of the seven gold menorahs: the seven stars are the angels of the seven Messianic communities, and the seven menorahs are the seven Messianic communities.

Description of the Bridegroom

We see in this one chapter alone, multiple levels of Yeshua’s identity and what each is designed to do.

He is incredibly complex.

Here are the broad categories that are corded

Dominion - Securing His Authority

- the faithful witness

- the firstborn from the dead

- the ruler of the earth’s kings

Redemption - Securing His Inheritance

- the one who loves us

- who has freed us from our sins at the cost of his blood

- who has caused us to be a kingdom, that is, cohanim (priest) for God, his Father

The Priesthood - Our High Priest

- wearing a robe down to his feet

- a gold band around his chest

- His head and hair were as white as snow-white wool

- his eyes like a fiery flame

- his feet like burnished brass refined in a furnace

- his voice like the sound of rushing waters

The King - Our Ruler

- In his right hand he held seven stars

- out of his mouth went a sharp double-edged sword

- his face was like the sun shining in full strength

His Eternal Nature

- I am the First and the Last

- the Living One

- I was dead, but look! — I am alive forever and ever!

- And I hold the keys to Death and Sh’ol

Let’s look at each of these a little more closely. We’ll use a lot of the Bible to round out an even deeper understanding of Yeshua our Bridegroom but that will show us that none of this should be a surprise.

He’s been written about from the Beginning.

Dominion - Securing His Authority

the faithful witness

Witness

H5707 עֵד `ed (ayd) n-m.

1. concretely, a witness

2. abstractly, testimony

3. specifically, a recorder, i.e. prince

Witness: The pictograph ayin is a picture of the eye, the dalet is a picture of the door. Combined these mean "see the door". As coming to a tent a tent of meeting and entering in. A place, time or event that is repeated again and again.

Witness: An event or person's testimony recounting another event or person.

Leviticus 5

1 “‘If a person who is a witness, sworn to testify, sins by refusing to tell what he has seen or heard about the matter, he must bear the consequences.

Everything Yeshua said was true or else He would have sinned.

the firstborn from the dead

Colossians 1

14 It is through his Son that we have redemption — that is, our sins have been forgiven. 15 He is the visible image of the invisible God. He is supreme over all creation, 16 because in connection with him were created all things — in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, lordships, rulers or authorities — they have all been created through him and for him. 17 He existed before all things, and he holds everything together.

18 Also he is head of the Body, the Messianic Community — he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might hold first place in everything. 19 For it pleased God to have his full being live in his Son 20 and through his Son to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace through him, through having his Son shed his blood by being executed on a stake.

21 In other words, you, who at one time were separated from God and had a hostile attitude towards him because of your wicked deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in the Son’s physical body through his death; in order to present you holy and without defect or reproach before himself — 23 provided, of course, that you continue in your trusting, grounded and steady, and don’t let yourselves be moved away from the hope offered in the Good News you heard.

Psalm 89

20 (19) There was a time when you spoke in a vision;

you declared to your loyal [prophets],

“I have given help to a warrior,

I have raised up someone chosen from the people.

21 (20) I have found David my servant

and anointed him with my holy oil.

22 (21) My hand will always be with him,

and my arm will give him strength.

23 (22) No enemy will outwit him,

no wicked man overcome him.

24 (23) I will crush his foes before him

and strike down those who hate him.

25 (24) My faithfulness and grace will be with him;

through my name his power will grow.

26 (25) I will put his hand on the sea

and his right hand on the rivers.

27 (26) He will call to me, ‘You are my father,

my God, the Rock of my salvation.’

28 (27) I will give him the position of firstborn,

the highest of the kings of the earth.

29 (28) I will keep my grace for him forever,

and in my covenant be faithful with him.

30 (29) I will establish his dynasty forever,

and his throne as long as the heavens last.

31 (30) “If his descendants abandon my Torah

and fail to live by my rulings,

32 (31) if they profane my regulations

and don’t obey my mitzvot,

33 (32) I will punish their disobedience with the rod

and their guilt with lashes.

34 (33) But I won’t withdraw my grace from him

or be false to my faithfulness.

35 (34) I will not profane my covenant

or change what my lips have spoken.

36 (35) I have sworn by my holiness once and for all;

I will not lie to David —

37 (36) his dynasty will last forever,

his throne like the sun before me.

38 (37) It will be established forever, like the moon,

which remains a faithful witness in the sky.”

the ruler of the earth’s kings

Psalm 102

13 (12) But you, Adonai, are enthroned forever;

your renown will endure through all generations.

14 (13) You will arise and take pity on Tziyon,

for the time has come to have mercy on her;

the time determined has come.

15 (14) For your servants love her very stones;

they take pity even on her dust.

16 (15) The nations will fear the name of Adonai

and all the kings on earth your glory,

17 (16) when Adonai has rebuilt Tziyon,

and shows himself in his glory,

18 (17) when he has heeded the plea of the poor

and not despised their prayer.

19 (18) May this be put on record for a future generation;

may a people yet to be created praise Adonai.

Romans 13

1 Everyone is to obey the governing authorities. For there is no authority that is not from God, and the existing authorities have been placed where they are by God. 2 Therefore, whoever resists the authorities is resisting what God has instituted; and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are no terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you like to be unafraid of the person in authority? Then simply do what is good, and you will win his approval; 4 for he is God’s servant, there for your benefit. But if you do what is wrong, be afraid! Because it is not for nothing that he holds the power of the sword; for he is God’s servant, there as an avenger to punish wrongdoers. 5 Another reason to obey, besides fear of punishment, is for the sake of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes; for the authorities are God’s public officials, constantly attending to these duties. 7 Pay everyone what he is owed: if you owe the tax-collector, pay your taxes; if you owe the revenue-collector, pay revenue; if you owe someone respect, pay him respect; if you owe someone honor, pay him honor. 8 Don’t owe anyone anything — except to love one another; for whoever loves his fellow human being has fulfilled Torah. 9 For the commandments, “Don’t commit adultery,” “Don’t murder,” “Don’t steal,” “Don’t covet,” and any others are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does not do harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fullness of Torah.

Redemption - Securing His Inheritance

the one who loves us

1 John 4

7 Beloved friends, let us love one another; because love is from God; and everyone who loves has God as his Father and knows God. 8 Those who do not love, do not know God; because God is love. 9 Here is how God showed his love among us: God sent his only Son into the world, so that through him we might have life. 10 Here is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the kapparah for our sins.

who has freed us from our sins at the cost of his blood

Colossians 1

14 It is through his Son that we have redemption — that is, our sins have been forgiven. 15 He is the visible image of the invisible God. He is supreme over all creation, 16 because in connection with him were created all things — in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, lordships, rulers or authorities — they have all been created through him and for him. 17 He existed before all things, and he holds everything together.

Ephesians 1

7 In union with him, through the shedding of his blood, we are set free — our sins are forgiven; this accords with the wealth of the grace 8 he has lavished on us. In all his wisdom and insight 9 he has made known to us his secret plan, which by his own will he designed beforehand in connection with the Messiah 10 and will put into effect when the time is ripe — his plan to place everything in heaven and on earth under the Messiah’s headship.

who has caused us to be a kingdom, that is, cohanim for God, his Father

Exodus 19

5 Now if you will pay careful attention to what I say and keep my covenant, then you will be my own treasure from among all the peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6 and you will be a kingdom of cohanim for me, a nation set apart.’ These are the words you are to speak to the people of Isra’el.”

The Priesthood - Our High Priest

Exodus 28

15 “Make a breastplate for judging. Have it crafted by a skilled artisan; make it like the work of the ritual vest — make it of gold; blue, purple and scarlet yarn; and finely woven linen. 16 When folded double it is to be square — a hand-span by a hand-span. 17 Put in it settings of stones, four rows of stones: the first row is to be a carnelian, a topaz and an emerald; 18 the second row a green feldspar, a sapphire and a diamond; 19 the third row an orange zircon, an agate and an amethyst; 20 and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx and a jasper. They are to be mounted in their gold settings. 21 The stones will correspond to the names of the twelve sons of Isra’el; they are to be engraved with their names as a seal would be engraved, to represent the twelve tribes.

22 “On the breastplate, make two pure gold chains twisted like cords. 23 Also for the breastplate, make two gold rings; and put the gold rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 24 Put the two twisted gold chains in the two rings at the two ends of the breastplate; 25 attach the other two ends of the twisted chains to the front of the shoulder-pieces of the ritual vest. 26 Make two gold rings and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, at its edge, on the side facing in toward the vest. 27 Also make two gold rings and attach them low on the front part of the vest’s shoulder-pieces, near the join, above the vest’s decorated belt. 28 Then bind the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the vest with a blue cord, so that it can be on the vest’s decorated belt, and so that the breastplate won’t swing loose from the vest. 29 Aharon will carry the names of the sons of Isra’el on the breastplate for judging, over his heart, when he enters the Holy Place, as a continual reminder before Adonai. 30 You are to put the urim and the tumim in the breastplate for judging; they will be over Aharon’s heart when he goes into the presence of Adonai. Thus Aharon will always have the means for making decisions for the people of Isra’el over his heart when he is in the presence of Adonai.

31 “You are to make the robe for the ritual vest entirely of blue. 32 It is to have an opening for the head in the middle. Around the opening is to be a border woven like the neck of a coat of mail, so that it won’t tear. 33 On its bottom hem make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet; and put them all the way around, with gold bells between them all the way around — 34 gold bell, pomegranate, gold bell, pomegranate, all the way around the hem of the robe. 35 Aharon is to wear it when he ministers, and its sound will be heard whenever he enters the Holy Place before Adonai and when he leaves, so that he won’t die.

Daniel 7

9 “As I watched, thrones were set in place;

and the Ancient One took his seat.

His clothing was white as snow,

the hair on his head was like pure wool.

His throne was fiery flames,

with wheels of burning fire.

10 A stream of fire flowed from his presence;

thousands and thousands ministered to him,

millions and millions stood before him.

Then the court was convened, and the books were opened.

Daniel 10

2 At that time I, Dani’el, had been mourning for three whole weeks. 3 I hadn’t eaten any food that satisfied me — neither meat nor wine had entered my mouth, and I didn’t anoint myself once, until three full weeks had passed.

4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, 5 when I looked up, and there before me was a man dressed in linen wearing a belt made of fine Ufaz gold. 6 His body was like beryl, his face looked like lightning and his eyes like fiery torches; his arms and feet were the color of burnished bronze; and when he spoke, it sounded like the roar of a crowd. 7 Only I, Dani’el, saw the vision; the men who were with me did not see the vision; however, a great trembling fell over them; so that they rushed to hide themselves. 8 Thus I was left alone; and when I saw this great vision, there was no strength left in me — my face, normally pleasant-looking, became disfigured; and I had no strength.

Proverbs 16

31 White hair is a crown of honor obtained by righteous living.

Ezekiel 43

43 After this, he brought me to the gate facing east. 2 There I saw the glory of the God of Isra’el approaching from the east. His voice was like the sound of rushing water, and the earth shone with his glory. 3 The vision seemed like the vision I had seen when I came to destroy the city; also the visions were like the vision I had seen by the K’var River; and I fell on my face. 4 Adonai’s glory entered the house through the gate facing east.

Note: Those that enter the house are cohanim

The King - Our Ruler

In his right hand he held seven stars

Revelation 1

20 Here is the secret meaning of the seven stars you saw in my right hand, and of the seven gold menorahs: the seven stars are the angels of the seven Messianic communities, and the seven menorahs are the seven Messianic communities.

Exodus 15

6 Your right hand, Adonai, is sublimely powerful;

your right hand, Adonai, shatters the foe.

7 By your great majesty you bring down your enemies;

you send out your wrath to consume them like stubble.

Matthew 25

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, accompanied by all the angels, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates sheep from goats. 33 The ‘sheep’ he will place at his right hand and the ‘goats’ at his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world.

Romans 8

31 What, then, are we to say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare even his own Son, but gave him up on behalf of us all — is it possible that, having given us his Son, he would not give us everything else too? 33 So who will bring a charge against God’s chosen people? Certainly not God — he is the one who causes them to be considered righteous! 34 Who punishes them? Certainly not the Messiah Yeshua, who died and — more than that — has been raised, is at the right hand of God and is actually pleading on our behalf! 35 Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War? 36 As the Tanakh puts it,

“For your sake we are being put to death all day long,

we are considered sheep to be slaughtered.”

Ephesians 1

15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your trust in the Lord Yeshua and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you. In my prayers I keep asking 17 the God of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you will have full knowledge of him. 18 I pray that he will give light to the eyes of your hearts, so that you will understand the hope to which he has called you, what rich glories there are in the inheritance he has promised his people, 19 and how surpassingly great is his power working in us who trust him. It works with the same mighty strength he used 20 when he worked in the Messiah to raise him from the dead and seat him at his right hand in heaven, 21 far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion or any other name that can be named either in the ‘olam hazeh or in the ‘olam haba. 22 Also, he has put all things under his feet[a] and made him head over everything for the Messianic Community, 23 which is his body, the full expression of him who fills all creation.

out of his mouth went a sharp double-edged sword

Hebrews 4

9 So there remains a Shabbat-keeping for God’s people. 10 For the one who has entered God’s rest has also rested from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Therefore, let us do our best to enter that rest; so that no one will fall short because of the same kind of disobedience.

12 See, the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than any double-edged sword — it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart. 13 Before God, nothing created is hidden, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

14 Therefore, since we have a great cohen gadol who has passed through to the highest heaven, Yeshua, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we acknowledge as true. 15 For we do not have a cohen gadol unable to empathize with our weaknesses; since in every respect he was tempted just as we are, the only difference being that he did not sin. 16 Therefore, let us confidently approach the throne from which God gives grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.

his face was like the sun shining in full strength

Numbers 6

22 Adonai said to Moshe, 23 “Speak to Aharon and his sons, and tell them that this is how you are to bless the people of Isra’el: you are to say to them,

24 ‘Y’varekh’kha Adonai v’yishmerekha.

[May Adonai bless you and keep you.]

25 Ya’er Adonai panav eleikha vichunekka.

[May Adonai make his face shine on you and show you his favor.]

26 Yissa Adonai panav eleikha v’yasem l’kha shalom.

[May Adonai lift up his face toward you and give you peace.]’

27 “In this way they are to put my name on the people of Isra’el, so that I will bless them.”

Matthew 17

17 Six days later, Yeshua took Kefa, Ya‘akov and his brother Yochanan and led them up a high mountain privately. 2 As they watched, he began to change form — his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became as white as light. 3 Then they looked and saw Moshe and Eliyahu speaking with him. 4 Kefa said to Yeshua, “It’s good that we’re here, Lord. I’ll put up three shelters if you want — one for you, one for Moshe and one for Eliyahu.” 5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them; and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him!” 6 When the talmidim heard this, they were so frightened that they fell face down on the ground. 7 But Yeshua came and touched them. “Get up!” he said, “Don’t be afraid.” 8 So they opened their eyes, looked up and saw only Yeshua by himself.

His Eternal Nature

I am the First and the Last

Isaiah 44

6 Thus says Adonai, Isra’el’s King

and Redeemer, Adonai-Tzva’ot:

I am the first, and I am the last;

besides me there is no God.

7 Who is like me? Let him speak out!

Let him show me clearly what has been happening

since I set up the eternal people;

let him foretell future signs and events.

8 Don’t be frightened, don’t be afraid —

Didn’t I tell you this long ago?

I foretold it, and you are my witnesses.

Is there any God besides me?

There is no other Rock — I know of none.”

Isaiah 48

10 “Look, I have refined you,

but not [as severely] as silver;

[rather] I have tested you

in the furnace of affliction.

11 For my sake I will do it,

for my own sake.

I will not let [my reputation] be tarnished;

I will not yield my glory to anyone else.

12 “Listen to me, Ya‘akov;

Isra’el, whom I have called:

I am he who is first;

I am also the last.

13 My hand laid the foundation of the earth,

my right hand spread out the heavens;

when I summoned them,

at once they rose into being.

17 He existed before all things, and he holds everything together.

the Living One

Jeremiah 10

6 There is no one like you, Adonai!

You are great, and your name is great and mighty.

7 Who would not fear you, king of the nations?

For it is your due! —

since among all the wise of the nations

and among all their royalty,

there is no one like you.

8 One and all they are boorish and stupid;

the teaching of their nothings is a piece of wood!

9 Silver is beaten into plates,

then imported from Tarshish.

Gold from Ufaz is worked by a craftsman

and shaped by the hands of a goldsmith.

They are clothed in blue and purple,

all the work of skillful men.

10 But Adonai, God, is the true God,

the living God, the everlasting king.

At his anger, the earth trembles;

the nations cannot endure his fury.

Daniel 6

26 (25) King Daryavesh wrote all the peoples, nations and languages living anywhere on earth:

“Shalom rav! [Abundant peace!]

27 (26) “I herewith issue a decree that everywhere in my kingdom, people are to tremble and be in awe of the God of Dani’el.

    “For he is the living God;

    he endures forever.

    His kingdom will never be destroyed;

    his rulership will last till the end.

28 (27) He saves, rescues, does signs and wonders

    both in heaven and on earth.

    He delivered Dani’el

    from the power of the lions.”

29 (28) So this Dani’el prospered during the reign of Daryavesh, and also during the reign of Koresh the Persian.

I was dead, but look! — I am alive forever and ever!

Corinthians 15

20 But the fact is that the Messiah has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have died. 21 For since death came through a man, also the resurrection of the dead has come through a man. 22 For just as in connection with Adam all die, so in connection with the Messiah all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: the Messiah is the firstfruits; then those who belong to the Messiah, at the time of his coming; 24 then the culmination, when he hands over the Kingdom to God the Father, after having put an end to every rulership, yes, to every authority and power. 25 For he has to rule until he puts all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be done away with will be death, 27 for “He put everything in subjection under his feet.” But when it says that “everything” has been subjected, obviously the word does not include God, who is himself the one subjecting everything to the Messiah. 28 Now when everything has been subjected to the Son, then he will subject himself to God, who subjected everything to him; so that God may be everything in everyone.

And I hold the keys to Death and Sh’ol

Isaiah 22

16 ‘What do you own here,

and who gave you the right

to cut yourself a tomb here?

Why do you get such an eminent tomb?

Why are you carving a resting-place

for yourself in the rock?’”

17 Look, strong man! Adonai is about

to throw you out! He will grab you,

18 roll you up, and toss you around

like a ball in the open country.

There you will die, with your fancy chariots,

you disgrace to your master’s palace!

19 “I will remove you from your office,

I will snatch you from your post.

20 When that day comes, I will summon

my servant Elyakim the son of Hilkiyahu.

21 I will dress him in your robe,

gird him with your sash of office,

and invest him with your authority.

He will be a father to the people

living in Yerushalayim

and to the house of Y’hudah.

22 I will place the key of David’s house

on his shoulder;

no one will shut what he opens;

no one will open what he shuts.

23 “I will fasten him firmly in place like a peg, so that he will become a seat of honor for his clan. 24 They will hang on him all the weight of his clan, descendants and offspring, as well as all the vessels of small capacity, from pitchers to cups. 25 When that day comes, the peg fastened firmly in place will give way; it will be cut down and fall, and the weight that was on it will be cut off.” For Adonai has said it.

Matthew 16

13 When Yeshua came into the territory around Caesarea Philippi, he asked his talmidim, “Who are people saying the Son of Man is?” 14 They said, “Well, some say Yochanan the Immerser, others Eliyahu, still others Yirmeyahu or one of the prophets.” 15 “But you,” he said to them, “who do you say I am?” 16 Shim‘on Kefa answered, “You are the Mashiach, the Son of the living God.” 17 “Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan,” Yeshua said to him, “how blessed you are! For no human being revealed this to you, no, it was my Father in heaven. 18 I also tell you this: you are Kefa,” [which means ‘Rock,’] “and on this rock I will build my Community, and the gates of Sh’ol will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” 20 Then he warned the talmidim not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

Why should we listen to Him? Because He is . . .

who has freed us from our sins at the cost of his blood

who has caused us to be a kingdom, that is, cohanim for God, his Father

He loves us

He redeemed us from death

This redemption allows for our commissioning into the priesthood FOR the Father

The One Who Is

The Priest

wearing a robe down to his feet

a gold band around his chest

His head and hair were as white as snow-white wool

his eyes like a fiery flame

his feet like burnished brass refined in a furnace

his voice like the sound of rushing waters

The King

In his right hand he held seven stars

out of his mouth went a sharp double-edged sword

his face was like the sun shining in full strength

The One Who Is To Come

The Eternal One

I am the First and the Last

the Living One

I was dead, but look! — I am alive forever and ever!

And I hold the keys to Death and Sh’ol

Song of Songs 5

10 The man I love is radiant and ruddy;

he stands out among ten thousand.

11 His head is like the finest gold;

his locks are wavy and black as a raven.

12 His eyes are like doves by running streams,

bathed in milk and set just right.

13 His cheeks are like beds of spices,

like banks of fragrant herbs.

His lips are like lilies

dripping with sweet myrrh.

14 His arms are rods of gold set with beryl,

his body polished ivory adorned with sapphires.

15 His legs are like pillars of marble

set on bases of pure gold.

His appearance is like the L’vanon,

as imposing as the cedars.

16 His words are sweetness itself;

he is altogether desirable.

This is my darling, and this is my friend,

daughters of Yerushalayim.

This is your Bridegroom!
